HAIR FAIR: MY FAV FREEBIES AND MORE

Before I get to my favorite hairs, let's talk about the actual fair itself. I've interviewed several people and by majority they found it disappointing (comparing to last year.) From one anonymous source she says, "As I went through the stores, the all looked the same, almost all of them were mesh and a lot of the hair looked like another in another store." Now  I don't have a problem with mesh (I LOVE it) although some people do, the only problem I had this year was the confusing set-up. I ran in circles way more than once. Other than that, I was fine. I must commend the freebies this year. There were so many it took hours to take pics of them all. I must commend the freebies this year. Ok so I pretty much went through each store and took my time after everyone got over the initial "OMG IT'S HAIRFAIR!!" Their were a couple I came across that were..less than normal. Although they weren't normal, I really love them because of the amount of thought the creator put into it. Here's a few of my favorites that were REALLY sort of out there.

Mesh Skin- Good, Bad, Ok? What I found at Oddity

Mesh skin...I was probably one of the last ones to catch on to this "mesh craze" but I gotta say things are getting better. But mesh skin? "What's the difference between mesh skin and regular skin?" I thought to myself as I walked through the doors of Oddity to check out the newest item on the shelf. When I got there I was told that it was for micros only but the made one for a normal avi and a demo on the spot! I went to try it on and found that difference: the smooth textures of mesh with skin take out all flaws found in your shape leaving it perfectly detailed the way you always wanted it to be. It was beautiful, and I HAD TO HAVE IT! Of course I got it and all my skepticism left my mind. Oddity's mesh skin is the way to go (plus their customer service is amazing.)

FUTURE PROBLEMS IN SL!!

       Recently you may have noticed that many clubs have either been closing or losing traffic. Even Big Daddy's has gone from 85K to 55K. Now you begin to wonder, How did this happen so fast? Theories are running around, including those from Linden Labs, but none seem to be getting the issue solved. The latest theory by SL users is that there is a glitch in how traffic is calculated by SL. Low traffic=no vendors=no tippers or money=no club or sim. However, " Since Tuesday November 16, 2011. Traffic Numbers across the grid have significantly dropped. i.e. Parcels which had a daily average of 50-55K are now 30-35k, 35-45K are now 15-25K, Approximately a 30-40% drop while visitor numbers to these parcels have not decreased. There has been no reported change by Linden Labs nor any bug reported of as of yet.As days progressed the percentage loss grew to 70% and lowered again" LindenLabs refuses to do anything! While club owners close and lose money LindenLabs sits back and laughs at us all! This is why they have been closing so quickly! However, LindenLabs does admit to a dire searching problem that is costing thousands of lindens:
     "In addition to the Traffic Calculation bug I had previously reported, it turns out that another serious search issue was overlooked which may be a problem stemming from the same issue. ALL SEARCH LISTINGS ARE FROZEN!! This includes Paid Classified Ads, Land & Rental Listings, Places, Events, ect! This means that All New listings, Updates, Changes, Removals, ect. are not showing up on V2/V3 Viewers and http://search.secondlife.com. 
      THIS ISSUE DEFINITELY IMPACTS Land/Sim Owners who Rent and Sell land- Land Owner's income (including region tier income) could potentially be adversely be affected! Also Paid Ads are not showing up so those who paid a considerable amount to have Ads placed have just wasted Linden on classified ads which will not show up on search results! In addition, any newly listed clubs/shops/ect. will not show up on search results which will also adversely affect their "being discovered" and building "initial traffic'."
      So what now? We bug the hell out of the Lindens til they fix this! Good luck y'all! Hang in there!
   

ONEVOICE UPDATE

We are halfway there! We've raised $10,000 to go towards Curio's legal funds! No this isn't Lindons, this is RL CASH!! Digital money converted to RL CASH! It's crazy what an online community can do when it gathers together and join forces! We're halfway there now let's push on and get the other half done. Gooooo Curio!!!

CURIO VS HUSH

I believe a certain somebody has begun to realize she made a big mistake. In case your not caught up with this, Curio filled a complaint to LL (Linden Labs) about Hush a while back about her skins looking like hers, however, LL ignored it. Shortly after Hush did the same thing. It was also ignored. Later Hush had her skins (digital skins on an online game -.-) copyright in RL, and filed a form that made the owner of Curio shut down the whole sim. She then moved this into RL and is launching a full scale lawsuit against the owner of Curio. The starting expenses of this is $20,000. Not Lindens REAL CASH! So why am I tell you about this? Because a fundraiser has been opened today with all the hottest name in fashion backing her. Names like: Mock, Al Vero, Truth Hair, Wasabi Designs, and AlterEgo (who I haven't seen there yet but they are supporters) and sooo many more. Curio will succeed. You feel that Hush? It's all the top fashion owners staring at you waiting for your next move.
